With Ottawa Sports Pages, a publication that highlights talented athletes at the grassroots level, I served in many capacities: as a writer, reporter, archivist, and copy editor and I created and edited content for their social media accounts during the Canada Summer Games.
I wrote many features and profile pieces highlighting several extremely talented athletes such as canoer and kayaker Maren and Peter Bradley ahead of the Canada Summer Games, wheelchair racer Josh Cassidy ahead of the Commonwealth Games, squash star Iman Shaheen ahead of the World Championships, canoer Matthew O'Neil ahead of competing at the RBC Training Ground final. I've also written pieces highlighting Heidi Knoll's commitment to Syracuse University to play hockey, two long-time Ottawa TFC teammates Riley Bonadie and Flavie Dubé reuniting to play in the NCAA with Louisiana Tech, and an analysis/feature piece regarding the success of the Nepean Knights' Jr. B lacrosse team who capped off a dominant season with a provincial championship and a nationals berth.
During the Canada Summer Games, I copy-edited the daily newsletter which recapped each day's events and posted the newsletter to the Ottawa Sports Pages website before creating and editing content advertising the newsletter for their Instagram and Twitter.
As an archivist, my role was to transfer older articles onto the new site and edit/update those articles so they remain relevant.
